D Day Memorial Match at CMP Talladega – WWII vintage rifle run and gun

Being fond of walnut and steel, bolt guns and iron sights, I have been looking forward to this match for a while. It was awesome. About as close to the Medal Of Honor video games as possible. Lots of Garands, Carbines, Mausers actions, straight bolts, and even some bayonets. Some really nice Era Uniforms and a super cool surplus Jeep. I had been planning to run a 3 gun match Heavy Metal division (Garand, 1911, pump shotgun), and still plan to, but this feeds the need until then.

It was HOT – I happily sweated off about 6 pounds, but at the end of the day I still had the hustle to paste targets and reset steel. There were two divisions (Semi and Bolt). There were competitors that ran through the course, and then there were some that were just glad to be out there walking or trotting along. almost 30 people attended the match. I ran both sessions (morning and afternoon). Morning session was completed with 2 squads of about 10 people each. Afternoon session was much smaller with about 6 people. Also worth noting that you can run in both divisions (bolt and semi). Price was only $15 per session/division with proceeds benefiting vets.

as far as semis go, the garand ruled the day, knocking steel down with absolute authority out to the ~50yd mark. Carbines were better for the close quarter quick fire stages, but steel hits on the far targets didn’t always fall (but still counted).

I got most of the guys to sign a Picture frame matting for Ike Fabela, who turned 100 on June 6th 2018. I will get a picture of the competitors and have it shipped to him.

I got to try out my knock off go-pro for the first time. Besides leaving it on and running the battery down, it seemed to work pretty good for a $50 camera.

And if you haven’t been to the CMP Marksmanship Park, I would highly suggest a visit. It’s a $20 million dollar facility tucked in the woods of this great state of Alabama. Serious vintage match competitors come from all over the country to shoot their rifles on the 600 yd line that is equipped with electronic targets at every station. For a touch of nostalgia, here is a pic with my long lost Garand beside old John C.

And without further adieu, here is the good stuff. First person videos. Enjoy…

Plane Ride

Merry Christmas Dad!

Pilot Joe was gracious enough to take my dad and I up for a quick spin in the prop plane. We went over Huntsville, then over beautiful Lake Guntersville. After that it was over to Scottsboro where you can see the Nuclear power stacks and the refining plant on the river. After that, we changed heading to Tennessee, then Back to Huntsville.

next setup – Birthday wishes and Caviar Dreams!

so….

after the Tronbike  scramble, I ended up with about $39 for use on coinbase. so the plan is to buy litecoin on coinbase and transver to gate.io and start playing with some new alt coins.

Golem

SUB

Ripple

Ether

Wabi – fight against conterfit goods from china using RFID and your phone. Also shows product history. Map of where it has been.  has functioning products now. Not on gate.io, is on https://tokenmarket.net/blockchain/all-assets.

NEO –  Also on kucoin

Get signed up for kucoin…

????

So…. The plan for this run is to just by litecoin on coinbase and transfer directly into gate.io, (thus bypassing GDAX just an extra time consuming step…)

bought $30 of lite coin off coinbase

Go to GDAX > eop left LTE to USD > Deposite > From Coinbase Account > Select proper wallet > max (or however much you want).

Then go to Gate.io and deposit funds and get tha address

use it in Gdax > withdraw > address

See funds pending….

done, now have lite coin,

Sell it on gate.io – Immediate – AWESOME!

then put in an order to sell..

then saw the price drop dramatically in 5 mins.

cancelled order to buy low.

then had 0 balance for a few mins…

then it reappeared…

then put in an order for 60 GNT for 1.0403 ($62.5 total)

lets see what this one does..

Order didn’t fill because I put a price in instead of leaving it blank – DUH!!!

so.. trying to cancel order and buy at market price.

But then tried to buy without a price (deleted) and it had error from 0 to 10000.

so… why didn’t the order fill? dunno…

Maybe dont need to bypass GDAX…try this method except using LTE coin instead of BTC for speed…

TRON

https://coincentral.com/trx-beginners-guide/

Furthermore, TRON is in the process of transferring TRX onto the Peiwo APP. This would give its 10 million users the ability to exchange the token back and forth.

TRX is an ERC-20 token – very common – easy and secure to store.

midnight – jan 3rd – We will announce our partnership with a very prestigious public listed company next week. Looking forward to it!

I need to get that Ripple, Stellar, or Tron! Behold the new Champipple Coin!

Old Redd beat us all to the punch apparently!

Well, seeing the security coins go through the roof today +50% or more, made me want to try getting into that action.

I bought $40 of bitcoin off coinbase using the CC so the purchase was instant (no 5 day waiting period). I tried using shapeshift to convert bitcoin into Ripple, but there was a 20XPR minimum, which turns out to be about $330 worth of bitcoin, sooo…. that’s out. looks like I’m holding onto broke until payday and I can get some more!

First purchase on Coinbase

Well, today was fairly exciting. I dipped my second toe into the crypto-currency game today. After seeing the markets of all coins correct, I knew I wanted to purchase today.  Early morning ponderings, research, scheduling and budgeting put a plan together for the day.

Wake up EARLY and get to the only Bitcoin kiosk in town to check the prices. I noticed that when I purchased earlier the same week, the price was reflected of a day earlier, so I was hoping that I would get in with Friday’s lows. Well I popped in, and the kiosk proudly displayed NO MORE COINS!

Arrrrggggg… time for plan be, which was actually a more steady secure plan anyway.

Get the account credentials from my bank, in order to setup online account, and then link to coinbase.

The Cryptocurrency junkie lit the end of the Marlboro light at 7:38AM waking through the drizzle toward the entrance of the bank. eyeing the parking lot over the next few minutes, other typical creatures began to emerge. The older bearded fellow wearing the Harley Davidson shirt, the tall lanky elderly gentleman taking his time toward the entrance, a distinguished well dressed man with a can and hat, an old black grandma hunched over. All wanted to be the first in line through the doors to start the days errands, but I was first in line. I found it odd that as they cordially jockeyed for position, none of them would hold their head high, they would look down, almost like they were ashamed for trying to assert their position in line. There was one person, however, who stood tall, confident, proudly grinning as he took his place in line – graciously inviting a few of the older and more frail characters to be first and get out of the cold.

With the account details quickly collected I was off for a few other errands of the day.

I will admit that I was constantly checking my mobile wallet value – the fluctuation both excited me and made me a bit nervous. this thing is changing 24/7 – NO REST FOR THE WICKED!

I wasn’t able to finish getting verified with coinbase until later that evening. And then made my first purchase there of some bitcoin and ether.

I decided to stay out of bit coin cash because it looked like it could go up or down. Ether was now sitting closer to its weekly low and still falling a bit, but I didn’t want to miss the upswing. Bitcoin had hit the valley Friday and was on its way back up.

One thing I did notice was that the coins wouldn’t be able to trade until 1/5 that’s just short of 2 weeks! quite a while in this marketplace. That would be the advantage of the kiosk – I had that money in my private wallet 5 minutes after waking away from the machine.

Well, It’s Christmas time, I’m broke and happy. Looking forward to what the holiday and the new year might bring.
